Tree Removal Tucson
In honor of Arbor Day, Arizona State Forester Scott Hunt announced that Tucson is one of 25 Arizona communities to receive the 2013 Tree City USA recognition. This marks the 22nd consecutive year that Tucson has received the award from the Arbor Day Foundation program. “A full tree canopy makes for a better city,” said Mayor Jonathan Rothschild. “We appreciate this recognition. You can help by joining our 10,000 trees campaign (http://www.mayorrothschild.com/2014/04/04/trees-at-sahba-home-show/) .” The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, USDA Forest Service, and the National Association of State Foresters. It provides, among other things, national recognition for greener communities. The criteria to be a Tree City USA community are:

  • Convening a tree board or department like the City of Tucson’s Landscape Advisory Committee
  • Having a tree care ordinance
  • Maintaining a commitment to a community forestry program
  • Observing Arbor Day

Becoming a Tree City USA community and achieving the program requirements will create a healthier, sustainable urban forest that reduces energy costs and consumption, boosts property values, builds strong community ties, and honors the community. Tree Service
